What happens if I-70 closes while I'm travelling?

I-70 closes for accidents, avalanche mitigation and weather, and it is a fact of this corridor rather than an emergency. There are a small number of genuinely viable alternates and several that look fine on a map and are not appropriate for a passenger vehicle. Your driver knows which is which, and whether a given closure is worth waiting out rather than driving around. We will keep you informed the whole way. What we will not do is put you on a road our driver judges unsafe.
